openSUSE Aeon (MicroOS) is a openSUSE-family Linux distribution based on openSUSE Tumbleweed. Immutable, transactional, self-maintaining desktop Linux with read-only root and Flatpaks.
Strengths: Zero system maintenance: updates apply automatically and atomically in background; If an update fails health check, machine silently rolls back to previous snapshot; Distrobox allows running Ubuntu/Arch apps seamlessly. Trade-offs: Traditional zypper commands cannot modify running root directly.
