KDE neon is a Ubuntu-family Linux distribution based on Ubuntu LTS. The latest KDE Plasma desktop directly from the source on top of a rock-solid Ubuntu base.
Strengths: Always runs the newest KDE Plasma features and bugfixes; Extremely low memory footprint for a modern desktop; Stable base underneath. Trade-offs: Upstream KDE bugs hit your machine quickly; Requires using pkcon/discover rather than standard apt dist-upgrade.
